Rush Rhees Library
Rush Rhees Library, Collaborative Learning Center, University of Rochester
The Rush Rhees Collaboration Learning Workspace occupies two primary levels of the south wing addition to the Rush Rhees Library. An enter connecting stair links the ground floor to the first floor. 325 new seats were added and evenly distributed between study / collaboration rooms, open office, lounges, viewing and study areas. The exterior skin was removed from a portion of the building to add large windows providing an abundance of natural light. The environment is similar to flex spaces in open offices found in creative corporate settings.
